The statutes of the European Communication Research and Education Association stipulate that 2008 will be an election year for the sections.The Philosophy of Communication section will hold its next business meeting at the Barcelona conference in November 2008, where the ballot will take place. In accordance with our modus operandi (Article 3), we hereby issue an invitation for nominations for election to the Executive Committee (Chair + 2 Vice-Chairs).
Candidates can put themselves forward for election by sending an email to the Chair.Regrettably, two of the current team will not nominate themselves for re-election. Colin Grant (Chair) and Tino Meitz (Vice-Chair) are to resign as a result of multiple other commitments.
Johan Siebers (Vice-Chair) will stand for Chair and nominate a new team in due course, but we invite everyone to consider which active role you might play in the section, including a possible nomination. The section relies on the active participation of members. Feel free to contact any of the existing board members for an informal discussion.
